Virginia Beach, Va. - The Virginia Beach Police Department is investigating the burglary of two homes in the 1300 block of Windmill Point Crescent.

According to an incident report it happened between noon and 2:30 p.m. on Monday afternoon.

Residents who live in one of the homes hit say the thieves hopped over their fence, broke through their back door with a rock and then destroyed their home before leaving with some of their electronics.

"It's heartbreaking and makes you feel taken advantage of because you try to live in a nice community and then something like this happens," explained Tocara Clements, one of the residents.

Aside from the things stolen, Clements says the thieves trashed her home.

"They poured out the dog food, dog biscuits, clothes all over the house. They went through our crawl space, went through our Christmas stuff like yea. They just vandalized, they had time on their hands. They just destroyed the place."

The woman who lived in the home next door says her back door was also shattered with a rock. She also had electronics stolen and came home to find her home in shambles.
