Camden County, N.C. - Every morning at sunrise, Donna Rose takes pictures of fishermen outside her home.
“I had no idea that that was going to be their last shot,” Rose says. “The last time that anybody would be to see them. I like to just show the beauty of the area, and that's what I was doing that morning, just ended up that there was a lot more to the story that day.”
That day was last Tuesday. She snapped a photo of three boaters headed into the Albermarle Sound. At first she thought nothing of it.
“I was just trying to line up the guys with the perfect sunlight so I could show the sunrise,” Rose says. “It was just within hours later that they weren't here anymore.”
That day the fishermen in the yellow boat, who all moved to Camden County from Vietnam, were reported missing.
Little did Donna know that photo was the last time anyone would see them.
“As soon as I knew it was a yellow boat, I zoomed in and I had that yellow boat with those guys in it,” she says.
As of today, three bodies have been found all within just a few miles from where Donna took the photo.
Deputies do believe the bodies are the missing boaters but can't be sure until the medical examiner confirms.
“It's mind blowing,” Rose says. “It's sad.”
