Norfolk, Va. - Gunshots Sunday morning upset people in a Norfolk neighborhood.
One man was hurt and now police are trying to figure out how this happened.
It happened in the 200 block of Woodview Ave. in Norfolk just before 11 a.m.
Neighbors said this is certainly not how they wanted to start their Sunday morning.
One woman did not want us to use her name, but said, "It just terrible, nobody wants to wake up to that. You would've thought it was the Fourth of July."
She said the gunshots sounded like fireworks.
She grabbed her 7-month-old granddaughter and fled to the back of her house.
She said, "When I came to the front, police were everywhere."
Police lined Woodview Ave. after they got 911 calls about the gunshots.
Two blocks down the road a church service was going on.
People are stunned by such violence on a Sunday morning.
William Abare said, "It was pretty loud. I jumped right up, you know, jumped up and peaked around before I came out the door to make sure everyone was alright."
Police said when they got out there they could not find a victim, but minutes later a man arrived at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with gunshot wounds.
They said his injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.
Another person, who didn't want to appear on camera, told us they heard a man yelling for his gun.
Neighbors we spoke with are upset.
One woman said, "It's not even June and they're acting up already in broad daylight."
We asked police if this man who was shot was targeted or if they think there is a random shooter on the loose. They said they believe this was an isolated incident but would not elaborate and did not provide us with any suspect information.
