Norfolk, Va. – Road work at the I-264 West Downtown Tunnel has wrapped up early this weekend. It is now reopen to traffic.
It was originally scheduled to be closed until 5 a.m. Monday.
Crews spent the weekend repaving the westbound side of the tunnel.
According to Elizabeth River Tunnels, drivers may also notice new pavement marking tape through the tunnel which doesn’t give off the same type of glare as reflective roadway paint.
The eastbound tunnel was repaved in March.
