Arrest made in murder of 19-year-old in Newport News

UPDATE: On June 11th, detectives took a 17-year-old Hampton man into custody at his residence in connection to this murder. He is charged with first degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. The suspect’s identity will not be released due to his age. 

Newport News, Va. – A 19-year-old Hampton man was shot to death in Newport News on June 3rd.

Police and medics around responded to a report of a shooting in the 3600 block of Madison Avenue 5:35pm and found Kevonne De’Monte Turner lying unconscious on the ground.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by medics.

At this time there is no suspect description and the motive is unknown.
