Waves, N.C. – A man is facing marijuana charges in Dare County, NewsChannel 3 has learned.
On Friday, May 29, 2015, Dare County Narcotics Task Force arrested a suspect in Waves, N.C. on an arrest warrant for Possession with the Intent to Sell and/or Deliver Marijuana and Maintaining a Dwelling for Controlled Substances.
The warrant was obtained after members of the Dare County Narcotics Task Force stopped the suspect when he was leaving his home on a bicycle on May 27, 2015.
During that stop, officials say the suspect was found to be in possession of a ‘substantial’ amount of marijuana.
The Task Force then went back to the suspect’s home, where a firearm and more marijuana were seized, according to the Dare County Sheriff’s Office.
The suspect has been identified as 25-year-old Joshua Michael Blankenship of Waves, N.C. Blankenship has been charged with Possession with the Intent to Sell and/or Deliver Marijuana; and Maintaining a Dwelling for Controlled Substances.
Blankenship was released in lieu of a $9,000 secured bond.
