Norfolk, Va. (WTKR) - Police are investigating after a 12-year-old boy was hurt after he jumped from a moving car in Norfolk.
The accident happened just before 1:30 p.m. near the intersection of Hampton Boulevard and Terminal Boulevard.
Police found that the boy opened the door while the car was still moving and jumped out.
Police say the child was significantly injured from the fall and was taken to Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters where he is being evaluated.
One westbound lane of Terminal Boulevard at Hampton Boulevard was closed after the boy jumped but has since reopened.
Norfolk Police are still investigating the incident.
