Cape Charles, Va. - A 73-year-old man had to be medically evacuated from the Carnival Splendor on Monday night.
Officials say he was experiencing health problems.
This happened about 140 miles east of Cape Charles.
Crews received a call about the incident at around 5 p.m.
They dispatched a MH-60 Jawhawk helicopter crew and an HC-130 Hercules airplane crew.
They arrived at around 7 p.m. and hoisted the man and a nurse into the helicopter.
He has been taken to Sentara Norfolk General.
There's no word yet on his condition.
