Hampton, Va. – A man died after a motorcycle accident in the 1200 block of Aberdeen Road in Hampton Sunday afternoon.
Hampton Police Communications received a call at 4:42 PM about the accident.
Upon officers’ arrival, they located the driver of the motorcycle suffering from critical injuries. The driver has been identified as Hawthorne Lenwood Hope, Jr., a 60-year-old Hampton man.
Mr. Hope was transported to a local hospital where he later died.
The preliminary investigation has revealed that a 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling northbound on Aberdeen Road when the driver lost control.
Hampton Police are investigating the crash.
