Shelby, N.C. – Police officers who arrested mass shooting suspect Dylann Roof in Shelby Thursday took him in without incident, according to police Chief Jeff Ledford. They then bought him a meal at Burger King, according to a report from WSOC-TV.

The 21-year-old reportedly had only had water and a bag of chips at a south Charlotte gas station that day, Ledford told WSOC-TV, and he was hungry.

Roof allegedly killed nine people at a prayer group at Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, S.C.,the day before.
