Police investigate attempted robbery at Newport News Burger King

Newport News, Va. - Police are investigating an attempted robbery at a Burger King in Newport News.

It happened at the restaurant on Jefferson Avenue shortly after midnight.

Police say two men wearing dark clothing approached a manager who was closing for the night and put a gun to his head.

They started to force the manager back inside, when police say a car pulled up to the drive-thru, scaring the men off.

The men ran away without getting any money.

No one was hurt.
