Chesapeake, Va. – While officers were trying to serve a man, they say he barricaded his front door and threatened to kill anyone who entered. He also threatened to burn down the building.
This occurred in the 2100 block of Military Highway on Monday at around 5 p.m.
They tried to calm him down and talk him into opening the door, but their attempts were unsuccessful.
They spent several hours trying to negotiate with him, but they made no progress.
Officers say the man then threatened to kill anyone who entered the apartment and he also threatened to burn the building down.
At this point, they obtained a warrant for felony threatening to burn the building.
Once they were able to get into the apartment, they removed the man from inside and he was then arrested.
No one was injured.
