Virginia Beach, Va. - Motorcycles with the Boneshakers Social Club now have a spot in this year's Neptune Festival Parade.

Members say they have reached an agreement with organizers under the condition that they only have 25 bikes in the parade, and they do not gun their engines.

"We're ecstatic," says Kathy Foster, a cook at Boneshakers Bar and Grill, which has helped with numerous social club fundraisers.

Back on July 6th, the group was told they did not have a spot after six years of participation, due to noise complaints.

"When we receive concerns from festival attendees as we did in this case, we pay attention," said Nancy Creech, president of the Virginia Beach Neptune Festival, in a statement.

Boneshakers' members feel it was the community taking action on social media, creating a Facebook group with more than 1,000 supporters, and discussing the matter with organizers, that got results.

"Never in a million years did I expect it to become such a big deal, and then it blew up from there," says David Jaffe, president of Boneshakers Social Club. "It was actually really comforting, reassuring, humbling."

The Neptune Festival parade will kick off at 11:30 AM on September 26th in Virginia Beach.
