*** The Flood Warning for the Blackwater River above Franklin has been canceled. Water levels crested overnight and are now dropping below flood stage.
More heat and humidity… Temperatures will start in the mid 70s this morning and climb into the mid 90s this afternoon. It will feel very muggy today, with a heat index near 100 this afternoon. We will see a mix of sun and clouds today with a chance for afternoon “pop up” showers or storms. Storm chances will linger through this evening.
Highs will return to the mid 90s on Thursday with heat index values back to the triple digits. In typical summer fashion, an isolated shower or storm is possible for the afternoon. We will get a small break from the heat as we approach the weekend. Expect highs near 90 on Friday and in the upper 80s for the weekend.
