Portsmouth, Va.- The City of Portsmouth is hosting free concerts July 24th and 25th at the Ntelos Wireless Pavilion starting at 6:30p.m. each night.
Headliners for Friday night’s concert is Karen Brigg, Portsmouth’s own national recording artist.
Karen Briggs has had many musical experiences since the age of eleven and has toured all over the United States, along with being broadcasted to 65 countries. She is the first African American violinist to have ever performed at The Herodian Theater, The Taj Mahal, India and the Forbidden City in China and had the honor of being included in “The History Maker’s” roster and archive.
Jazz artist Brian Simpson headlines Saturday’s concert. He’s toured with some of the greats of recent jazz history, including George Duke, Stanley Clarke, Larry Carlton and many more! He has been the musical director and jazz saxophonist for Dave Koz for close to 20 years and has been known for his ability to compose unforgettable melodies and irrisistible grooves.
Concerts are free and open to the public. Seating is general admission.
