Newport News, Va.- Two Newport News officers went well beyond the call of duty and saved a woman’s wedding day!

Detectives from the North Precinct received a report about a stolen ring.

The woman reported that she had contractors working in her house the day before and she noticed the ring was missing.

She found out the ring was at a pawn shop in Norfolk.

One of the detectives, Mike Olson, went to Norfolk to investigate and he seized the ring.

He called the woman and told her he had the ring, but she was already on the Outer Banks at the time.

She was scheduled to be married on July 7th.

The day before the wedding. Olson and Detective Matthew Andreoli went to the Virginia/North Carolina state line to meet the woman to return her ring. This was just in time for her big day.
