Southwest Airlines plane runs off runway into grass at RIC

Henrico County, Virginia – A Southwest Airlines plane arriving at Richmond International Airport Monday morning veered off the runway into grass, where it stopped, according to a statement from Southwest Airlines.

Flight 4636 from Orlando International Airport was delayed for approximately one hour after the landing.

There were 131 passengers and five crew members that deplaned by portable stairs and were  safely transported to the terminal. No one was injured.

Southwest Airlines is investigating the incident.
