Virginia Beach, VA – The Hampton Roads Hurling Club and Cumann na mBan (Irish for “League of Women”) Camogie Team will be hosting the first Coastal Virginia Cup on July 18th at the Princess Anne Athletic Complex from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

This event free and open to the public, and will feature the ancient sports of hurling and camogie, in which local clubs and teams from throughout the Atlantic coast will compete.

Hurling and camogie are outdoor games of Irish origin, having been played continuously in Ireland for over 3,000 years. Dubbed “The Fastest Game on Grass,” hurling and camogie is a combination of lacrosse, hockey, golf, baseball, soccer, and rugby.
