Newport News, Va. – Nine students aboard a Newport News school bus were unhurt when a driver rear-ended the bus on Old Oyster Point Rd. Monday morning.
The bus had made a scheduled stop at Old Oyster Point Rd and Crestwood Suits Drive around 11:30am when a Hyundai Santa Fe traveling in the same direction was unable to come to a complete stop and rear-ended the school bus.
The bus was dropping off summer school students from Woodside High School.
The students were transferred to another bus and taken home according to standard procedure.
The 24-year-old woman who was driving was issued a summons for following too closely.
