Smithfield, Va. - A former Smithfield Packing Plant employee is accused of running over another worker with his car during a heated dispute.

Police say this happened on Thursday morning just after midnight.

Eddie Woodley was fired for a fight he had with a female employee earlier that day.

He was escorted off of the property at 3 p.m. but police say he somehow ended up either staying in the parking lot or leaving and coming back.

Later that night, the woman who was involved in the earlier altercation was leaving and was then hit in the back of the head by another woman.

This person has not been identified yet.

The two women became involved in a fight .

The female worker's boyfriend, who also works at the plant, came out to break the fight up.

That's when police say Woodley hit the man with his vehicle and left the scene.

No one else was injured police say.

Police say he has been charged with aggravated malicious wounding.

The worker, who has been identified as Raheen Best, remains in Sentara Norfolk General in stable condition.

Over the phone, Best told Newschannel 3 Friday evening that being run over caused him to break three ribs, his femur, fractured part of his skull and had to have ear reconstruction surgery. Despite his extensive injuries, he says that he realizes the situation could have been worse.

"I could have died, I could have really died," Best said.

Although Woodley is still on the loose, Best says he isn't concerned.

"I got injuries, I'm hurting right now. I cant worry about where he is right now, I need to worry about my health."
