Portsmouth, Va. – The director of public utilities in Portsmouth has submitted his resignation.  Bryan Foster will be the 5th top official to leave in the last four months.  Two others were terminated.

This comes just days after the city announced their director of general services, Dennis Bagley, had resigned.

Foster was named as the person who would serve as the acting director of general services until a replacement was secured.

So far, the police chief, the finance director,  the economic development director all resigned from their positions.

City Manager John Rowe and City Attorney George Willson were fired by city council in April.

Foster started this position back in November 2009.

He was previously the county administrator for Halifax County and the town manager for Altavista.

Foster’s last day will be August 21st.
