A hunter from Idaho is facing sharp criticism after posting photos of her kills from an African safari to Facebook. Sabrina Corgatelli shared the pics with quotes like, “My Impala I got today!! One of Africa’s Icon.”
The photos show her kills include a giraffe, impala, kudu, warthog and wildebeest. Corgatelli thanked “Old Days Safari” on Facebook for helping organize the hunt.
Corgatelli spoke out on TODAY Monday, saying, “To me it’s not just killing an animal; it’s the hunt. There’s a lot of personal things in my life that have happened recently that have added to that. I won’t get into that or disclose those feelings. Everybody just thinks we’re cold-hearted killers, and it’s not that. There is a connection with the animal, and just because we hunt them doesn’t mean we don’t have a respect for them. Giraffes are very dangerous animals. They could hurt you seriously very quickly.”
She told TODAY she heard about the outrage surrounding Cecil the lion’s death a day after she killed the giraffe.
People from across the globe has been leaving a lot of comments to her photos. Most of the comments don’t agree with her decision to post the photos to social media or go to an international hunt.
“So did the giraffe taste good…there is nothing about you or your life represents anything godly…you are souless” writes Lynn Latimer.
Corgatelli has no plans to end the hunt. This weekend she posted two lines from the Bible.
“Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. And as I gave you the green plants, I give you everything.” – she quoted from Genesis 9:3. She added, Genesis 27:3 says, “Now then, take your weapons, your quiver and your bow, and go out to the field and hunt game for me.”

Cecil’s death at the hands of a lion huntersparked international outrage because he was a protected animal. Zimbabwe is seeking the extradition of American dentist Walter Palmer on accusations that he and others illegally hunted the lion, authorities said.
