Suspects on the loose after two shootings in Virginia Beach

Posted

Virginia Beach, Va. - With their rifles out blocking off streets in one neighborhood, police canvassed along Baccalaureate Drive searching for two gunmen.

“We just looked outside and the policemen just told us to get back in. We never knew anything,” says a neighbor.

A woman took photos but she was afraid to go on camera.

She never heard any shots, but police say Baccalaureate Drive is where the first of two gunfights happened.

Police say the second shooting happened an hour and a half later at 9:30 around the corner in the parking lot of a 7-Eleven on Baker Road.

A man who lives nearby and called police says he heard six distinct gunshots.

Virginia Beach police say they believe the shootings stem from an argument between two groups. Though they haven`t identified everyone involved, they only believe there were two shooters.

Two cars were shot at.

No one was shot, but police say a man was injured after tripping and falling on a glass bottle as he ran away from the gunfire.

No one else was hurt, but neighbors worry that won`t be the case next time.
