Newport News, Va. – A man has died after he was hit by a vehicle in Newport News on Wednesday night.
The accident happened around 9:15 p.m. on Brick Kiln Boulevard near the intersection of Cascade Drive.
Police say the victim was one of two pedestrians trying to cross Brick Kiln Blvd. from Bellows Way. One of the pedestrians, a female, made it to the other side of the road safely, but the other pedestrian, a male, was hit by a vehicle.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released.
The 61-year-old driver stayed on the scene. She was not injured and no charges are pending.
No other details have been released.
