Norfolk, Va. – Norfolk Fire-Rescue units are currently responding to a natural gas leak at the corner of 34th Street and Llewellyn Avenue.
According to Norfolk Fire-Rescue Battalion Chief Julian Williamson, the leak was caused by a backhoe that hit the gas line while digging.
Firefighters are currently performing air quality sampling in the area and they have placed hose lines in place as a precaution.
One home has been evacuated as a precaution.
The 3300 block of Llewellyn Avenue is blocked from all traffic at this time.
