York County, Va. – A 28-year-old woman died early Sunday morning after she was hit in the 200 block of Hampton Highway.
State Police says Sara Beth Reissig had been drinking when she walked into the southbound lanes of Hampton Highway, north of Victory Boulevard around 2:50 a.m. when she was struck by a 2002 Chevrolet Impala. Reissig was taken to Riverside Regional Medical Center with life threatening injuries where she later died.
Sgt Anaya with Virginia State Police says the 22-year-old York County man who was driving the Impala will not be charged.
