Chesapeake crews called out to second-alarm fire at old Dominion plant

Chesapeake, Va. – Chesapeake fire crews were called to a fire at an old power plant on Tuesday evening.

The fire was located at the old Dominion Plant on 2701 Vepsco Street.

Crews were called out to the scene at 2:30 p.m.

When they arrived, they did not see the fire but after investigating, they found fire in a condensing unit.

They were told that it was titanium tubes that were burning.

This plant is now being decommissioned.

The fire will not affect any power grids at this time officials say.
