Norfolk, Va. – Norfolk police are investigating the case of a man who was allegedly assaulted by three people on July 14.

After speaking with the victim, detectives charged 20-year-old Ashley Bryant with aggravated malicious wounding and assault by mob.

According to court documents, the man and Bryant had been engaging in a sexual affair since April 2015.

The victim told police that Bryant and two unknown people–a black male and white female–assaulted him that night.

The victim also stated that the male suspect threw him to the floor and Bryant and the female suspect started punching him.

Bryant demanded that the victim give her his cell phone, and erased all pictures and videos of her on the phone.  She then let him leave.

Investigators were later able to recover several text messages from Bryant to the victim discussing their affair.

Bryant was arrested on July 31 at her home in the 1100 block of Hethersett Way.

She was held without bond and transported to Norfolk City Jail.

The victim had a broken nose and swollen eye and received medical attention.
