Newport News, Va. – A local police sergeant took action Wednesday by helping a woman pay for school supplies for her children.
According to a Facebook postby the Newport News Police Department, Sergeant W. Stokes was behind a woman in line who was buying school supplies for her kids.
The woman wasn’t able to buy all of the items in her cart.
Sergeant Stokes purchased the remaining items for the woman in her cart with his own money.
Many citizens contacted the Newport News Police Department praising Stokes for his good deed.
