Hampton teen arrested for bringing firearm onto school property

Hampton, Va. – A 17-year-old boy has been arrested for being in possession of a firearm on school property.

At around 9:25 a.m., police were notified by the Campus at Lee administration of a disorderly student in the 1600 block of Briarfield Road.

The School Resource Officer escorted the student out of the building.

The student’s behavior escalated and was arrested for disorderly conduct.

Police searched the student and found a loaded firearm on his person.

The teen was in the process of enrolling at the Campus at Lee.

He was charged with one count of disorderly conduct, one count of possession of a concealed weapon, one count of underage possession of a firearm, and one count of possession of a firearm on school property.

He is in custody at juvenile detention.
