Portsmouth, Va.- Matthew Dooley often finds himself at odds with his wife, Jewelee Dooley, for buying lottery tickets. But after discovering he had a million-dollar winning ticket, he promptly handed it over to Jewelee, buying himself a ticket out of trouble.
“He’s always sneaking tickets,” Jewelee laughed. “I think he’s allowed to play now.”
Matthew Dooley bought a Platinum Playout game from the 7-Eleven on 600 Landers Drive in Chesapeake. The Virginia Lottery will pay the couple the full $1 million over the course of 30 years. The Dooley’s plan for the money includes paying bills and sending their kids to college.
The 7-Eleven store also received a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
