Case against Navy Sailor accused of stabbing fellow Sailor referred to General Court Martial

Norfolk, Va. (WTKR) – The case against a Navy Sailor accused of stabbing a fellow Sailor has been referred to a General Court Martial.

Petty Officer Third Class Wilbur Harwell is accused of stabbing Petty Officer 2nd Class Justin Powell on June 6, 2014 at the Naval Support Activity Hampton Roads Portsmouth Annex.

An Article 32 hearing was held for Harwell at Naval Station Norfolk on August 31, 2015.

The case was refereed to a General Court Martial by Navy Region Mid-Atlantic on Monday, September 28, 2015.

So far, no date has been set for the General Court Martial.

Harwell remains in pre-trial confinement.
