Norfolk, Va. – Crews had to stop traffic to repair a gas leak in Downtown Norfolk on Wednesday.
Dispatch received a call about a construction company severed a 2 foot gas line at around 2:53 p.m.
There were no evacuations. Crews deployed a hose line and did air quality testing as precautionary measures.
The line was located at West Bute Street and Boush Street.
The Southbound lane of Boush Street has reopened for normal traffic.
The light rail has now resumed its normal travel.
Fire units have left the scene but Virginia Natural Gas will stay to continue making repairs.
