Masked man robs Newport News CVS, fires round in ceiling

Newport News, Va. – Police need help finding a man who robbed a CVS on Wednesday.

Around 7:00 p.m., the suspect came into the CVS, located at 13000 Warwick Boulevard.

The man showed the clerk a handgun and demanded he open the register.

The suspect fired a round in the ceiling and the clerk gave the suspect an undetermined amount of cash from several registers.

There were several customers in the store at the time.

The suspect is described as a black male with a thin build. He was wearing a Chicago Bulls hat, surgical gloves, a gray long sleeve pullover, dark pants and black tennis shoes.

The man left the store and was going in the northbound direction of Warwick Boulevard.

There were no injuries.

Police found the fired round and are investigating the incident.
