Wilmington, N.C.- Over the weekend, Coast Guard crews had to come to the aid of two individuals suffering from health problems.
The first incident happened on Saturday morning when the 5th district Coast Guard received a call about a man suffering from head trauma. Crews launched a MH-Jayhawk helicopter crew at 9:15 a.m. to transfer the man from Carteret General Care in Morehead City to Duke University in Durham.
Later that afternoon watchstanders received a report at approximately 1:50 for an elderly woman that was aboard the Carnival Pride Ship.
The North Carolina sector hoisted the 80 -year-old woman from the cruise ship due to health complications. She was later flown to Carteret General Urgent care.
They are both considered stable.
