Hampton, Va. – A Hampton woman recently claimed the top $175,000 prize in the Virginia Lottery’s Aces High scratcher game.

Courtney Wedding bought the ticket at the Stoneybrook Shell station on Warwick Boulevard where she says she stopped to get something to drink.

“I couldn’t believe it. I checked it like ten times!” she said. “I never thought anyone really wins!”

Aces High features prizes ranging from $5 to $175,000. Ms. Wedding is the second player to claim the top prize, which means there’s one top-prize ticket unclaimed. The odds of winning the top prize are 1 in 1,060,800. The odds of winning any prize in this game are 1 in 4.27.

Wedding, who works in retail as an assistant manager, said she has no immediate plans for her winnings. However, she did mention that her car has been giving her trouble lately.
