Looking to travel around the holidays this year? Then this week might be the best time to book your airfare.
A report from Orbitz suggests Oct. 5-12 is the “secret week” to buy tickets before airfares increase for travel around Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Eve.
Orbitz says Oct. 6 is the best day to book Thanksgiving fares, Oct. 9 is the best day to buy Christmas fares and Oct. 10 is best for purchasing New Year’s Eve fares.
Prices this week are 5 percent lower than average, according to Orbitz.
