TSA finds loaded gun in carry-on bag at Norfolk International Airport

Norfolk, Va. – A man was stopped by Transportation Security Administration officers at Norfolk International Airport on Monday when a loaded .25 caliber handgun was detected in his carry-on items.

The gun was found as the carry-on bag passed along the conveyor belt. The gun was loaded with six rounds. The man claimed that he did not know the gun was in his bag.

This marks the 11th time TSA officers have detected a gun at Norfolk International Airport so far this year. Seven guns were found during all 12 months of 2014.
