Traffic stop leads to arrest of alleged drug dealer in Dare Co.

Dare County, N.C. – An Elizabeth City man was arrested on Tuesday after being pulled over by police during a traffic stop.

The Dare County Narcotics Task Force was investigating a person who was allegedly selling cocaine in Dare County.

The task force conducted a traffic stop in the Gateway Bank parking lot in Kitty Hawk to try to find the alleged cocaine dealer.

When they stopped the man, they found a large amount of cocaine in his car.

The Task Force Officers got a search warrant at a house in Nags Head where the suspect was renting a room.

36-year-old Jacque Dejuan Moore was arrested for felony possession with the intent to sell/deliver cocaine, felony maintaining a vehicle, felony possession of cocaine and driving while license revoked.

Moore is being held on $46,000 bond.

The Dare County Narcotics Task Force is made up of the Dare County Sheriff’s Office, Nags Head Police Department, Kill Devil Hills Police Department, Kitty Hawk Police Department, North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations and North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement.
