Patrick Rockey’s Live VIPIR Forecast
A big warm up, a big cool down, and rain in between.
We are tracking a big cold front that will swing through the area early on Saturday.
Ahead of that front, we expect a big warm up on Friday. Most of us will see high temperatures in the low-to-mid 80s with a mixture of clouds and sunshine.
We should stay dry through the daytime hours on Friday. But showers become more likely as we head into the evening, especially closer to midnight.
This system won’t have a lot of moisture to work with, so we are expecting heavy downpours. And most of the rain will fall while you are sleeping.
However we may see a few lingering morning showers on Saturday, especially across the Southside and northeastern North Carolina.
The skies should clear from north to south as we head into Saturday afternoon. It will be a cooler day with high temperatures only in the 60s for most of us.
Sunday is looking like the pick day this weekend with partly cloudy skies and high temperatures back into the lower to mid 70s.
And we will hold onto those 70s as we move into the work week next week.
