Evolène, Switzerland – A camera was rolling this week when an entire cliff face collapsed in Evolène, Switzerland.
2,000 cubic meters of rock collapsed from a cliff above the community, sending debris tumbling 3,000 vertical feet to the road below, according to Adventure Journal.
Geologists and local safety officials have been keeping an eye on Rocher du Mel de la Niva since 2013 and had a pretty good idea it was ready to give way; the village of Arbey was evacuated, cows and other livestock included.
