Suffolk children fall from pickup truck driven by allegedly drunk grandfather

Suffolk, Va. – A 53-year-old Suffolk man was arrested Saturday morning after two of his grandchildren fell from the bed of his pickup truck that he was driving while reportedly intoxicated.

Suffolk Police officers were called to Sentara Obici Hospital around 10:00 a.m. after the children arrived.

The investigation revealed that approximately an hour prior, 53-year-old Bobby Trump Jr. was driving the two girls around in the bed of his pickup truck. The girls slid off the back of the truck and suffered road rash injuries.

Trump was arrested on charges of DUI, Child Endangerment, and Transportation of Persons less than 16 in the bed of a pick-up truck.
