Newport News, Va. – A Hampton man is recovering after he was shot in Newport News on Wednesday night.
At 9:49 p.m., Police Communications received calls about gunshots that were heard in the 3000 block of Madison Avenue.
When officers arrived, they found a 28-year-old man who had been shot in the lower body. They found him lying in a grassy area.
They say the man’s injuries appeared to be non life-threatening.
There is no information about a suspect right now.
