Newport News, Va. – Two teens are left with injuries after they say they a man came into their vehicle, struck them and threw a puppy out of the car window.
According to police, on November 1 at around 9:00 p.m., an 18-year-old male and a 19-year-old male told police that they had been robbed.
Both of the teens were in the car waiting for their friend, a 20-year-old man.
When the 20-year-old got into the car, an unknown black male opened the rear passenger door, threw a box containing a 4-week-old puppy out of the rear window and pulled out a gun.
The suspect hit the 18-year-old in his face and stole some of his belongings. Then, he hit the 19-year-old in the head but did not steal anything from him.
The suspect didn’t hit the 20-year-old, but he did steal some of the victim’s cash.
When the man told the 19-year-old to drive to a specific address, he drove in a different direction, trying to get help from people in another car driving in the opposite direction.
When the driver stopped the car, the 20-year-old passenger got out of the car and ran away.
The two victims went to a 7-Eleven on Jefferson Avenue, where the suspect got out of the car and ran away.
Officers found the box with the puppy and returned him to the 18-year-old unharmed.
