Poquoson, Va. - A recent HomeSnacks study ranked the small city on the peninsula the second happiest in the entire state of Virginia and its residents most definitely agree.
"I love Poquoson. It’s an awesome place to live and raise your children. It’s family oriented, everybody knows everybody, it’s a great place to live,” says Tina Rogerson.
So what goes into determining what makes a city happy?
This particular study focused on employment rates, average commute time, the rate of crime, the cost of living and even the weather.
Even people who weren’t born and raised in Poquoson are smiling.
"Living in probably 12 different states throughout my husband’s 26-year military career has really made you do a lot of comparing, and I would probably rate this as one of our top duty stations,” says Laurie Andersen. "I wasn’t raised here in Poquoson, but I love it here I brought three sons up in the Poquoson schools and they are excellent schools, and it’s just a good life.”
