Police charge Norfolk deadly shooting suspect with 2nd degree murder

Norfolk, Va. - Police have charged a suspect in the case of a deadly shooting that happened in a Norfolk neighborhood.

The shooting occurred Monday night in the 800 block of Lindenwood Avenue.

Homicide investigators were called out to the neighborhood at 8:45 p.m. and found 19-year-old Trenton D. Holland inside of a home with a gunshot wound.

Holland was taken to the hospital where he later died.

Martinis T. Privott, 30, turned himself into police the night of the shooting.

Privott was charged with one count of 2nd degree murder, one count of use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and on count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Privott is currently being held without bond at the Norfolk City Jail.

Police have not released a motive for the crime at this time.
