Coffee with a Cop starts conversations in Newport News

Posted

Newport News, Va.- The Newport News Police Department has taken the initiative to make their community a better place. Officers are hosting Coffee with a Cop at the Denbigh Community Center.

The officers will speak with members of the community from 8 am to 10 am with no agendas or drawn-out speeches. Instead, they just enjoy a cup of coffee and open the floor for discussions, questions and concerns. It is a way for community members to get to know the officers and for the officers to better understand the community’s concerns in a relaxed environment.

The next Coffee with a Cop event is being held on Thursday November 12 at 8 am. Following the coffee time, mayor of Newport News, Dr. McKinley Price, will speak on community issue and concerns.
