A passenger was restrained during a British Airways flight to Boston’s Logan airport, the Massachusetts State Police said on Twitter on Tuesday.
State police said they planned to take the person into custody.
State police first said the passenger allegedly was trying to rush the cockpit. They later determined that the passenger was intoxicated and tried to open the exit door.
A British Airways spokeswoman said the crew “requested that police meet the flight in Boston due to an unruly customer on board.”
A review of the air traffic control transmission indicates pilots did not declare an emergency.
