Six people displaced by overnight fire in Newport News

Newport News, Va. – Six people were displaced by a fire that occurred in a home in the 2600 block of Roanoke Avenue in Newport News overnight.

According to the Newport News Fire Department, calls reporting the fire came in around 2:00 a.m.

Firefighters found that the fire started in the kitchen area of the home. The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.

The Red Cross will be assisting the six people who were displaced as a result of the fire. No one was injured.
