The military has released video of A-10 and AC-130 aircraft destroying ISIS fuel trucks in a major operation over the weekend.
The strikes, named Operation Tidal Wave II, were aimed at reducing the production and transportation of illegal oil used to fund ISIS terrorist activities. Illegal oil production accounts for 2/3 of the group’s revenue.
The attacks destroyed 116 of the trucks near Abu Kamal, Syria, on Nov. 15th.
Air crews dropped leaflets warning civilian drivers to flee, and made several low-altitude ‘show of force’ passes before beginning the attack, according to a Defense Department briefing.
